As a score incubator, we've always got something in the oven.

We aim to produce scores that are representative of our diversity, hopeful for humanity, fairly traditionally structured, easily producible, and singer-approved. Here's a look at what we're working on now.

GODRIC ON THE RIVER
An oratorio about a medieval hermit examines the weird, beautiful extremes the human spirit reaches when in communion with the natural world. Jupiter funded the creation of this score by award-winning composer Rosśa Crean, featuring solos and choral sections with a small instrumental ensemble. Check out our demo of the show opener, and look for more in 2026.

ALSO BY ROSÅšA: SONGS OF THE FORLORN, a song cycle of longing for bass-baritone and saxophone. Contact for score and performance permissions.

The TRanscendant
Our first full-length show, this opera seria about tragic ends explores how we move through senseless, traumatic events and find peace on the other side. Composed by Misha Dutka, the score is half complete as of July 2025 and will be ready for demos in 2026. We are currently seeking a production partner to create a demo, workshop, or ticketed show run; get in touch to see what we've cooked up so far.

WINGS
A co-production with Opera Arlington, this song cycle by EG Rudolph will be performed for the first time by soprano Sara Kennedy in 2026. Sara commissioned this piece as an exposition of her very personal but infinitely relatable journey with anxiety; the final song celebrates the hard-won feelings of control and liberation that come from managing anxiety over time.

ALSO BY EG: "Jupiter," an anthemic aria for the nonbinary singer, which you can download free and perform with permission.

THE MYSTERY OF FAITH
Composer Jiwon Hahn is currently composing this piece, which blends ecumenical spiritualities with humanist hope and is designed to fit the resources of church music departments. The Jupiter Opera Development Foundation is providing funding for score development as well as a Korean translation of the text.

ALSO BY JIWON: Sneeze, a short comic opera for three singers and piano or small ensemble. Contact us for the score and performance permission.

FROG
This short Tudor farce by Vince Gover is a jolly good time: a historical comedy with drag roots that puts the focus on chest-voice singing for nontraditional tenors. We're looking for vocal equity, and we're committed to having a little fun along the way. The Jupiter Opera Development Foundation has fully funded the development of the score, and we're currently raising funds for the workshop! If you're in Chicago at the end of September and want to join in the drinking-and-dirty-limericks singalong chorus, drop us a line.

ALSO BY VINCE: "Men Like Us," a stirring concert aria (with free sheet music!) that celebrates Casimir Pulaski as an intersex military man who risked everything for freedom.

THE BOOK OF NINHURSAGA
Composer Jodi Goble is currently working on this three-hander that explores themes of environmentalism, technology, judgment, compassion, and hope in a dystopian sci-fi setting.
